Phati and George married in 1987. Phati comes from a very musical family, her father sang with Ladysmith Black Mambazo in South Africa in the 60's. He returned to Mbizingwe village Esigodini and started a family. He had six girls and taught them all how to sing. Three of the girls became musicians and singers Doreen, Busi Ncube and Phati. George grew up in Sizinda township in Bulawayo. His father was a messenger at the railways. As a youngster George listened to a lot of rock music and was particular inspired by Jimi Hendrix. Phati and George have three kids Sithembiso, Collen and Sipho.
