Paradzai Tembo

Handcrafted guitar and haunting melodies. View Artists on Map

Paradzai's father is from Mudze Mutoko. He was a farm foreman on Ivordale farm Enterprise District when Paradzai was born in 1971. Paradzai has six siblings. He became blind when he was one years old under mysterious circumstances, despite his Christian beliefs he theorises that perhaps witchcraft was involved. Paradzai had the good fortune to attend Jairos Jiri school in Kadoma. This is where Paradzai first came into contact with music. The piano at the school provided the inspiration for the song, "my brother is a pianist" and Paradzai's favourite instrument is the electronic keyboard. Paradzai currently lives in old farm workers housing on Stum Farm Enterprise where his father continues to work.
