Rodger was born in Hope Fountain Bulawayo was taught to play music by his father who played guitar. Rodger's father had a varied career starting as a boxer, then a musician and finally ended up working as a plumber. Roger started his career as a footballer playing for Highlanders FC in Bulawayo, he played for a very brief time alongside the Jungle Man Bruce Grobbelaar An injury ended Rodger football career and pushed him into Music full time. Rodger works as a freelance guitar player have played for various groups around Zimbabwe.
