Too Open

Harmonious sound laid on top of clean melodies with a jazz influence. View Artists on Map

The band formed in 1998 under the guidance of Brian Nhanhanga (Bruno). Llyod explained that growing up in the border town of Mutare a man could either get involved in cross-border business, plantation work, football, or music - if one had the skills. The band members felt music was their best avenue in life. The band played for many years in Mutare and its surrounding areas, nite spots like Mangenje Night Club, Pops Hall and the Castle Cannibal]on the Chimanimani road.

The band recorded an album in 2004 called Zororo. The album was popular and well received locally. The recording studio no longer promotes the album so things are now "tight". This "tight" situation provides the inspiration for the song Zvakadzanya. "If the Inuit have many words to describe snow the Zimbabweans have many words to describe tough living conditions - zvakapressa, zvakantinya, zvakaoma, zvakadakwa, zvirikunetsa to name a few." The band is now based in Harare because there are more places to play. They can be seen performing at Mabvuku, Jazz 105, The Manneberg and Highfield.
