| STEP 1 |
Get a Mukuru Account : it's free and easy. |
| |
You need a Mukuru Account to shop with us - it takes just a moment to set up. With your account you'll be able to buy goods, track orders, review transactions and send free SMSs to your relatives.
You'll need the usual details about yourself: email, address, contact number etc.
Just click here when you're ready. |
| STEP 2 |
Validate your email address - this activates your account |
| |
At the end of STEP 1 - you'll be asked to check your email address for an email from us - within will be a link for you to click on to activate your account. This is just to prove that the email address you specified in your Mukuru Account is really YOU.
If you DON'T receive that link from us there is a good chance that either you entered it incorrectly, or it may be in your spam folder - have a peek in there to see. If not then send us an email at support@mukuru.com and we'll get you rolling. |
| STEP 3 |
Log in and browse the storefront |
| |
Ok - so you have your account, now log in by entering your username and password at the top of the page - or by clicking on the log in text in the side-menu. |
| STEP 4 |
Checking Out |
| |
The most important thing to remember when you check out - and pay for your shopping cart, is that you MUST have the details of your intended recipient at hand. Most importantly you'll need some detail about their ID Documents, so either a passport number or ID card number. Send them a quick free SMS or email asking for the info if you don't have it. If you need to log-out to find out these details don't worry, everything in your shopping cart will be waiting for you when you next log in.
Why is this so important? Step 5 has the answer. |
| STEP 5 |
Recipient Details |
| |
Most importantly: email and cellphone number (if possible)
When you specify the recipient's details it ensures that the Voucher we generate for your order, even though emailed to only their address, and SMSed to their cellphone, can ONLY be collected by that person. So even if someone manages to copy down the same voucher number our agent staff on the ground in Zimbabwe will not let the product go without the specified documentation. |
| STEP 6 |
Payment Options |
| |
After specifying the recipient details you will have to choose a payment method to settle the amount in your shopping cart - this can either be wire transfer, paypal or credit-card. Each option has its own delay time in switching your order 'LIVE'. Simply, as soon as your funds have cleared, we confirm your payment, your order turns live - and automatically your recipient and yourself are sent a Mukuru Voucher, redeemable for your order. Typically only wire-transfers incur a delay of this type. |
| STEP 7 |
Voucher Generated and Sent |
| |
With payment cleared your Mukuru Voucher is emailed and SMSed to the recipient in Zimbabwe, and a copy sent to YOU the buyer, as well as the Mukuru Agent on the ground in Zim - so he'll be expecting a visit from your lucky relative. |
| STEP 8 |
Redeem Voucher |
| |
Immediately the recipient can go and redeem that voucher, as long as he has the specified Identification Document with him, and a copy of the voucher with him. |
| STEP 9 |
Voucher Expires |
| |
Once a voucher has been redeemed it cannot be used again, and will show up on your order as such. You can track your orders as a buyer to see when your relative has redeemed his Voucher. |
