1. Introduction
    1. The International Day of Family Remittances Competition (“the Competition”) is being run by Mukuru Africa (Pty) Ltd  (Company Registration number 2013/003424/07 trading as Mukuru (“Mukuru”) from 14 June 2021 to 20 June 2021 (“the Competition Period”) subject to these specific terms and conditions and the general terms and conditions for competitions which can be found at www.mukuru.com (“Competition Ts & Cs”)
    2. By participating in the Competition, you confirm that you have read and agree to be legally bound by the Competition Ts & Cs (as may be applicable).

  2. Competition Entry Requirements:
    1. In order to qualify for entry into the Competition you must:
      1. be a registered Mukuru Customer (as defined by Mukuru);
      2. send money from Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, the United Kingdom, Malawi or Botswana to your chosen recipient using the Mukuru Service during the Competition Period;
      3. abide by all the Competition Ts and Cs.
    2. Mukuru must process your personal information to validate your entry and if you are a winner, to make the Prize available to you. By entering the Competition, you consent to us processing your personal information for this purpose. If you do not consent, please do not enter the Competition.
    3. Participants who fulfil the requirements of clause 2.1 and 2.2 above will be referred to as “Qualifying Participants” for the purposes of the Competition.
  3. Winners selection
    1. A total of ten (10) random winners will be selected from the Qualifying Participants, during the Competition Period.
    2. All of the winners will be selected and announced on Monday 22 June 2021.
    3. Subject to the maximum amounts set out in clause 3.4 below, each winner will win, for the benefit of their recipient, the value of their last send on Mukuru (“the Prize”).
    4. The Prize cannot not under any circumstances exceed the below maximum amounts:
      1. SA senders: R2000
      2. UK senders: GBP100
      3. Zambia senders: K3300
      4. Zimbabwe senders: USD150
      5. Malawi senders: MK115000
      6. Botswana senders:P1550
  4. Announcement of winners
    1. The winners will be contacted telephonically and will be announced on Mukuru’s social media platforms;
    2. If Mukuru is unable to contact you or the recipient within 4 (four) days, then the prize will be forfeited.
  5. Payment of Prizes
    1. Within 30 (thirty) days of announcement of the winners, Mukuru will create the applicable orders in the name of the winners’ recipients and notify the recipients accordingly.
  6. General
    1. Mukuru employees will not be allowed to enter the Competition.
    2. Qualifying Entrants must be 18 years or older.
    3. The Prize cannot be exchanged or redirected to someone other than the original recipient of the send order.
    4. If for any reason, the Competition cannot run as planned because of any technical failures, unauthorised intervention, computer virus, mobile network failure, tampering, fraud or any other causes beyond our control which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Competition, we reserve the right to cancel, terminate, modify, suspend or cancel the Competition and/or to disqualify any individual who (whether directly or indirectly) causes (or has caused) the problem.
    5. Mukuru may vary the terms of or cancel the Competition at any time. Mukuru may vary or cancel the Competition at any time without any liability to any person involved directly or indirectly in the Competition.
    6. Mukuru cannot be held liable for any loss, expense or damage to any person participating in the Competition.
    7. Neither Mukuru  nor its agents shall be responsible for any loss or misdirected entries, including entries that were not received due to any failure of hardware, software, or other computer or technical systems affecting participating and/or prize redemption process of the Competition.
    8. A failure by Mukuru to enforce any one of the terms and conditions in any instance(s) will not give rise to any claim or right of action by any Qualifying Entrant or winner. If Mukuru does not enforce a provision, this will not mean that Mukuru has given up on or lost any rights.
    9. Mukuru will not assume any liability to any participant, Qualifying Participant, or prize winner in connection with or arising out of the Competition however it is caused, including for any costs, expenses, forfeited prizes, damages and other liabilities
    10. These Competition Terms and Conditions are governed by and determined in accordance with the laws of Botswana.
