Countdown to new Jacaranda Music Fest Begins

After several delays, Zimbabwe’s Jacaranda Music Festival is back on the agenda. The much-anticipated festival, previously scheduled to take place in October last year under the name Ngoma NeHosho Music Festival, will take place at Harare’s Hellenic Sports Club on 6 October.

Headlining acts include Mi Casa, the legendary Yvonne Chaka Chaka (South Africa), Oliver Mtukudzi and Mokoomba (Zimbabwe). More acts  will be added to the line-up and announced in the next few days. Attendees can expect to see a wide variety of artists from various genres perform on the day.

Orchestrating a music festival is not without its challenges: last year’s festival was put on hold after headliner Hugh Masekela fell ill, and this year, the organisers faced the challenge of financing the festival. Mukuru stepped in to sponsor the event, enabling the organisers to bring the event to life, delighting music lovers from across the country.
