The Mukuru ZIMAZA Event Competition (“the Competition”) is being run by Mukuru Money Transfer Limited with registration number CPR/2014/172884 (“Mukuru”) between 1 – 28 September 2024(“the Competition Period”) subject to these specific terms and conditions and the general terms and conditions for Competitions which can be found at www.mukuru.com (“Competition Ts & Cs”).
By participating in the Competition, you confirm that you have read and agree to be legally bound by the Competition Ts & Cs.

Campaign Entry Requirements:
To qualify to participate in the Competition, you must:
reside or work in Kenya;
during the Competition Period, do either one or all of the following:
sign yourself up as a Mukuru customer; and
send money (no minimum spend) to any country in which Mukuru operates;
be a first-time Mukuru money sender from Kenya;
You must comply with these terms and conditions.
Persons who fulfil the requirements of clause 2.1 above will be referred to as “Qualifying Participants” for the purposes of the Competition.
Mukuru processes your personal information when you use the Mukuru Service. Protecting your personal information is important to Mukuru and processing is done according to our Privacy Notice. When we run competitions and you qualify for a reward, Mukuru will need to process your personal information for additional purposes. For example, your personal information may be used to validate your entry, make the reward available to you if you are a winner and potentially share your personal information with 3rd parties (including 3rd parties in other countries) who have a need to know. We will ensure those 3rd parties have adequate data protection safeguards in place. Mukuru also announces the winners on social media. If the Competition includes Mukuru wanting to post photos of you as a winner on social media, you will be asked if you agree thereto and you may refuse.
Qualifying as a Winner and the Prizes
The details of all Qualifying Participants will be added to an enclosed box and 40 (forty) Winners will be chosen during the ZIMAZA Event held on 28 September 2024 (“the Event”)
Winners will be announced during the Event and are expected to attend the Event to win. Should any Qualifying Participant be announced as a Winner during the Event and not be in attendance, they will forfeit the Prize and the next Winner will be announced.
The Prizes to be won are as follows:
Prizes for Winners who complied with clauses 2.1.2.1 and 2.1.2.2:
Grand Prize: 1x KES 15,000 shopping voucher from Carrefour Supermarket;
Second Prize: 1x KES 5000 shopping voucher from Carrefour Supermarket; and
Other prizes: 8 x KES 2500 shopping voucher from Carrefour Supermarket. Prizes for Winners who complied with clause 2.1.2.1.:
Winners are required to present any form of identification upon collecting their Prize at the Event.
General
Qualifying Participants must be 18 years or older.
Qualifying Participants cannot participate in the Competition more than once.
If for any reason, the Competition cannot run as planned because of any technical failures, unauthorised intervention, computer virus, mobile network failure, stock unavailability, tampering, fraud or any other causes beyond our control which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Competition, we reserve the right to cancel, terminate, modify, suspend or cancel the Competition and/or to disqualify any individual who (whether directly or indirectly) causes (or has caused) the problem.
Mukuru may vary the terms of or cancel the Competition at any time. Mukuru may vary or cancel the Competition at any time without any liability to any person involved directly or indirectly in the Competition.
The Prizes are not transferrable for cash or any other currency.
Vouchers will be valid for a specific period as regulated by the supplier of the voucher.
Mukuru cannot be held liable for any loss, expense, or damage to any person participating in the Competition.
A failure by Mukuru to enforce any one of the terms and conditions in any instance(s) will not give rise to any claim or right of action by any Qualifying Participant. If Mukuru does not enforce a provision, this will not mean that Mukuru has given up on or lost any rights.
Mukuru will not assume any liability to any participant, or Qualifying Participant in connection with or arising out of the Competition however it is caused, including for any costs, expenses, forfeited rewards, damages and other liabilities
These Competition Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Kenya.
