Terms & Conditions for the Mukuru Maletsunyane Braai Festival Competitions
Introduction
The Mukuru Maletsunyane Braai Festival Competitions (together, the “Competitions”) are run by Mukuru Bureau De Change (Pty) Ltd (Company Registration Number 53578) (“Mukuru”). Two competitions are covered by these terms: a send‑to‑enter competition running from 20 October 2025 to 21 November 2025, and an on‑site scan‑to‑enter competition running from 28 November 2025 to 30 November 2025 at the Maletsunyane Braai Festival in Lesotho. Each competition is subject to these specific terms and conditions (“Specific Ts & Cs”) and the general terms and conditions for competitions found at www.mukuru.com (“General Competition Ts & Cs”), together the “Competition Ts and Cs”.
By participating in the Competitions, you confirm that you have read and agree to be legally bound by the Competition Ts & Cs.

Competition Entry Requirements:ts:
For the Send‑to‑enter competition: You must be 18 years or older and a registered Mukuru customer. During 20 October 2025 to 21 November 2025, make a qualifying money transfer using Mukuru on any of the following corridors: Lesotho to other African countries, South Africa to Lesotho, United Kingdom to Lesotho, Zambia to Lesotho, or Zimbabwe to Lesotho. . Each eligible transfer counts as one (1) automatic entry and multiple eligible transfers create multiple entries. Reversed, cancelled or refunded transfers are not eligible.
For the On‑site scan‑to‑enter competition: You must be 18 years or older and a registered Mukuru customer attending the Maletsunyane Braai Festival in Lesotho between 28 November 2025 and 30 November 2025. Visit the Mukuru stand, scan the QR code and complete the short form (name, surname, contact details and brief survey) to enter the daily lucky draw; one (1) entry per person per festival day applies and entries are day‑specific and do not roll over.
Minimum send per single qualifying transfer (or local-currency equivalent calculated at the prevailing rate at time of order): South Africa to Lesotho – ZAR 700; United Kingdom to Lesotho – GBP 60; Zimbabwe to Lesotho – USD 50; Zambia to Lesotho – ZMW 1,400; Lesotho to South Africa/Zimbabwe/Zambia/United Kingdom – M 1,000.
A “Qualifying Participant” is a participant who meets clause 2.1 and 2.3, or clause 2.2 and 2.3 (as relevant) and complies with these Specific Ts & Cs and the General Competition Ts & Cs.
Mukuru processes personal information to validate entries, select winners, deliver prizes and make related announcements, in line with its Privacy Notice. Where third parties assist in administering the Competitions, Mukuru will ensure appropriate data-protection safeguards. Winners’ names and/or images will only be published on social media or other channels after we have obtained the winner’s explicit consent; if consent is withheld, Mukuru may announce results without personal identifiers. By submitting the on-site form you also consent to Mukuru contacting you (call/WhatsApp/SMS/email) about Mukuru products and related marketing and sales, subject to your right to opt out.
The Prize
For the Send‑to‑enter competition there are five (5) winners. Each winner will receive two (2) electronic tickets to the Maletsunyane Braai Festival (valid for 28–30 November 2025). Tickets will be delivered by email to the winner’s nominated address. A participant may win only one set of tickets. The prize consists of tickets only; travel, accommodation, meals and all other costs are for the winner’s account.
For the On‑site scan‑to‑enter competition there are three (3) winners per festival day, each receiving one (1) JBL speaker (a total of nine (9) speakers across 28–30 November 2025). Prizes must be collected from the Mukuru stand on the same day they are won. Verification will be done by confirming the winner’s name, mobile number and email address.
Prizes are non‑transferable, not exchangeable and not redeemable for cash, and are awarded subject to compliance with Section 2.
Winner Announcement & Notification
Send‑to‑enter winners will be selected at random after the entry window closes and will be announced on 24 November 2025 on Mukuru’s social media channels. Mukuru will first contact each provisional winner by SMS, phone and email to verify eligibility and obtain publicity consent; once complete, winners will be announced on Mukuru’s social media channels..
Mukuru will attempt to contact each provisional winner by SMS, phone and email. If Mukuru does not receive a response by end of day on 25 November 2025, the ticket prize will be forfeited and Mukuru may select an alternate winner, who will be notified by SMS, phone and email
On‑site scan‑to‑enter daily winners will be announced via the Festival PA system at approximately 16:00 on 28 November, 16:00 on 29 November, and 14:00 on 30 November.
On the first two days, winners must present themselves at the Mukuru stand by 18:00; on the final day, by 15:00. Failure to present by the applicable time will result in forfeiture and Mukuru may select an alternate winner.
If a winner does not wish their name or image to be used for publicity, they must inform Mukuru when accepting or collecting the prize; Mukuru will respect such requests.
General
Mukuru employees and agents (including their immediate family members) are not allowed to enter the Competitions.
Winners cannot decline a prize they have rightfully won or request a different prize.
Mukuru reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the Competitions at any time, including if technical failures, unauthorized intervention, or any other causes beyond its control affect the fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Competitions.
If the Competitions are terminated early, any winners determined prior to termination will still receive their prizes, provided they have complied with the Competition Ts and Cs.
The prize is not transferable for cash or any other item, unless otherwise stated in the Competition Ts and Cs or agreed in writing by Mukuru.
Mukuru will not be liable for any costs, damages, or losses incurred by any participant or winner in connection with these Competitions. The prize is provided “as is,” without any warranties other than those given by the original issuer (if applicable).
Failure by Mukuru to enforce any of the Competition T’s and C’s does not constitute a waiver of those terms and does not give rise to any claim by any participant.
The Competition T’s and C’s are governed by the laws of Lesotho. By entering the Competitions, you agree to indemnify Mukuru against any claims or liabilities arising from your participation or acceptance of a prize.
Mukuru may, during the entry window, add additional eligible corridors by public announcement on official channels (e.g., website, social media, in-app/USSD). Any additional corridor will specify the applicable minimum send for a single qualifying transfer and will be deemed incorporated into these Specific Ts & Cs from the time of announcement.
Acceptance
By participating in these Competitions, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the Competition Ts and Cs.
