Terms & Conditions for the MukuruGivesBack
- Introduction
1.1. The MukuruGivesBack Competition (“the Competition”) is being run by Mukuru Africa (Pty) Ltd (Company Registration number 2013/003424/07) (“Mukuru”) from 29 May 2020 – 18 July 2020 (“the Competition Period”) subject to these specific terms and conditions and the general terms and conditions for competitions and Competitions which can be found at www.mukuru.com (“Competition Ts & Cs”).
1.2. By participating in the Competition, you confirm that you have read and agree to be legally bound by the Competition Ts & Cs.

- Competition Entry Requirements:
2.1. In order to enter the Competition, you must:
2.1.1. be a registered Mukuru Customer; and
2.1.2. you must have sent money to anyone using the Mukuru Service during the period 1 April 2020 – 18 July 2020.
2.2. By entering the Competition, you are granting Mukuru permission and authority to use your name and any photo you use in this Competition for the purposes of this Competition and for any other marketing communication.
2.3. There is no minimum send amount in order to qualify.
2.4. Persons who fulfil the requirements of clause 2.1-2.2 above will be referred to as “Qualifying Participants” for the purposes of the Competition.
- The Prize
3.1. The Prize:
3.1.1. R500 (five hundred Rand) daily for 50 (fifty) days during the Competition Period (both days inclusive); and
3.1.2. 5 (five) Qualifying Participants will win the Grand Prize. Grand Prize winners will win back their total send amount, sent between 1 April 2020 and 17 July 2020, to a maximum of R1500 (one thousand five hundred Rand).
3.2. Each day, one Qualifying Participant will win R500 (five hundred Rand). Therefore, there 50 Qualifying Participants will win R500 (five hundred Rand) during the Competition Period.
3.3. On the last day of the Competition Period, 18 July 2020, 5 (five) Qualifying Participants will each win the Grand Prize, which is their total spend amount, to a maximum of R1500 (one thousand five hundred Rand).
- Collecting your Prize
4.1. Each Qualifying Participant who receives a Prize will be announced on Mukuru’s Facebook page.
4.2. Each Qualifying Participant who is a winner and receives a Prize will receive the Prize into their bank account.
4.3. If Mukuru is unable to transfer the Prize to you within 4 (four) days, then the Prize will be forfeited.
- General
5.1. Mukuru employees will not be allowed to enter the Competition.
5.2. Qualifying Participants must be 18 years or older.
5.3. If for any reason, the Competition cannot run as planned because of any technical failures, unauthorised intervention, computer virus, mobile network failure, tampering, fraud or any other causes beyond our control which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Competition, we reserve the right to cancel, terminate, modify, suspend or cancel the Competition and/or to disqualify any individual who (whether directly or indirectly) causes (or has caused) the problem.
5.4. Mukuru may vary the terms of or cancel the Competition at any time. Mukuru may vary or cancel the Competition at any time without any liability to any person involved directly or indirectly in the Competition.
5.5. The Reward is not transferrable except as expressly stated herein.
5.6. Mukuru cannot be held liable for any loss, expense or damage to any person participating in the Competition.
5.7. A failure by Mukuru to enforce any one of the terms and conditions in any instance(s) will not give rise to any claim or right of action by any Qualifying Participant. If Mukuru does not enforce a provision, this will not mean that Mukuru has given up on or lost any rights.
5.8. Mukuru will not assume any liability to any participant, or Qualifying Participant in connection with or arising out of the Competition however it is caused, including for any costs, expenses, forfeited rewards, damages and other liabilities
5.9. These Competition Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of South Africa.
