Terms & Conditions for the Mukuru Planting Season Campaign

  1. Introduction
    1. The Mukuru Planting Season Campaign (“the Campaign”) is being run by Mukuru Money Transfer Limited (Company Registration number 13982) trading as Mukuru (“Mukuru”) from 1 November 2023 – 3 December 2023 (“the Campaign Period”) subject to these specific terms and conditions in line with the general terms and conditions for Campaigns which can be found at www.mukuru.com (“Campaign T’s & C’s”)
    2. By participating in the Campaign, you confirm that you have read and agree to be legally bound by the Campaign T’s & C’s (as may be applicable).

  2. Campaign Entry Requirements:
    1. In order to qualify for entry into the Campaign:
      1. you must collect your Mukuru International Money Transfer (“IMT”) order (strictly not local money transfers) at any Mukuru branch or booth in Malawi during the Campaign Period. Any collections at a Mukuru partner will not qualify for this Campaign;
      2. you must abide by all the Campaign Ts and Cs.
    2. Persons who fulfill the requirements of clause 2.1 above will be referred to as “Qualifying Participants” for the purposes of the Campaign.
    3. Mukuru must process your personal information to validate your entry and if you are a winner, to make the Prize available to you. By entering the Campaign, you consent to us processing your personal information for this purpose only. If you do not consent, please do not enter the Campaign.
  3. Winner selection and prizes
    1. All Qualifying Participants from Malawi, who meet the entry requirements will be entered into a random weekly draw throughout the Campaign Period and will stand a chance to win the Prize during the Campaign Period.
    2. The Prize consists of the following:
      1. K80 000 (Eighty Thousand Malawian Kwacha) farming voucher redeemable at a vendor of Mukuru’s choice.
    3. There will be a total of 15 winners per week, amounting to 75 winners in total. The random draws will be spread out as follows:
      1. Draw 1 (collections of IMT’s between 1 and 5 November 2023);
      2. Draw 2 (collections of IMT’s between 6 and 12 November 2023);
      3. Draw 3 (collections of IMT’s between 13 and 19 November 2023);
      4. Draw 4 (collections of IMT’s between 20 and 26 November 2023); and
      5. Draw 5 (collections of IMT’s between 27 November and 3 December 2023).
    4. The validity of the voucher will depend on the vendor chosen and will be communicated to the winner once the Prize is issued. The chosen vendor will be at the sole discretion of Mukuru and will be done on a case-by-case basis.
    5. After the results of each weekly random draw are received the winners of the farm vouchers will be announced each Friday during the course of the Campaign Period on our Mukuru Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/mukurudotcom?mibextid=ZbWKwL).
    6. The Winners will be contacted by a representative of Mukuru to arrange for the collection of the Prize, this process includes:
      1. the representative of Mukuru to disclose their position within the company and the reason for their call;
      2. disclosing the nature of the farming voucher and at which chosen vendor it can be redeemed at; and
      3. arranging collection of the Prize at your nearest Mukuru Branch or Booth.
    7. Winners of a Prize should be able to present their Identification Document upon collection.
    8. The Qualifying Participant is responsible for taking care of his/her voucher. Mukuru cannot be held liable for any lost, duplicated, or stolen vouchers and will not replace them.
    9. All other costs associated with the use of the voucher (for example transport costs) are for the Qualifying Participant’s account.
    10. After the Campaign Period has run out, Mukuru will place a newspaper advertisement listing all the winners for the campaign
  4. Forfeiting the Prize
    1. If a winner:
      1. refuses to accept the Prized form from the proposed vendor;
      2. is unable to present a representative of Mukuru with a valid Identification Document or Passport;
      3. cannot be contacted after 3 (three) telephone calls; or
      4. fails to collect the voucher within 30 (thirty) days after announcement of the winners at the agreed upon place, date and time, without communicating the reason for their failure;
      5. the winner will forfeit the Prize.
  5. General
    1. Mukuru employees and agents will not be allowed to enter the Campaign. 
    2. Qualifying Participants must be 18 years or older.
    3. A Qualifying Participant can only win once during the Campaign Period.
    4. Prize cannot be exchanged for cash or another reward.
    5. If for any reason, the Campaign cannot run as planned because of any technical failures, vehicle problems, unauthorised intervention, computer virus, mobile network failure, tampering, fraud or any other causes beyond our control which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Campaign, we reserve the right to cancel, terminate, modify, suspend or cancel the Campaign and/or to disqualify any individual who (whether directly or indirectly) causes (or has caused) the problem. 
    6. Mukuru may vary the terms of or cancel the Campaign at any time. Mukuru may vary or cancel the Campaign at any time without any liability to any person involved directly or indirectly in the Campaign. 
    7. Mukuru cannot be held liable for any type of loss, expense or damage to any person participating in the Campaign.
    8. Neither Mukuru nor its agents shall be responsible for any loss or misdirected entries, including entries that were not received due to any failure of hardware, software, or other computer or technical systems affecting participating and/or prize redemption process of the Campaign.
    9. A failure by Mukuru to enforce any one of the terms and conditions in any instance(s) will not give rise to any claim or right of action by any Qualifying Participant or winner. If Mukuru does not enforce a provision, this will not mean that Mukuru has given up on or lost any rights.
    10. Mukuru will not assume any liability to any participant, Qualifying Participant, or Prize winner in connection with or arising out of the Campaign however it is caused, including for any costs, expenses, forfeited prizes, damages, and other liabilities 
    11. These Campaign Terms and Conditions are governed by and determined in accordance with the laws of Malawi.
