Lesotho Operations Supervisor

An opportunity exists for an Operations Supervisor to join our Lesotho Branch.

The main purpose of this position is to oversee the effective functioning of the Lesotho site operations.

The Lesotho Operations Supervisor reports directly to the Head of Branches.

This position is responsible for overseeing the overall functioning of Lesotho site operations to ensure they are functioning optimally and in accordance with regulations. This position is also responsible for managing the financial aspects of the sites and ensuring cash levels and scheduling is effective at all times. The Regional Supervisors and Reconciliations Administrator report to this position.

Internal Liaison takes place with internal Lesotho staff. External liaison takes place with banks and regulatory institutions.

Duties and Responsibilities (includes but is not limited to):

  • To oversee the scheduling and cash levels across Lesotho sites
  • Ensure Lesotho maintains a high functioning CIT model
  • Ensure there are no cash run-outs across sites
  • Oversee macro and micro cash flows forecasts
  • To manage the financial aspects of the Lesotho operations
  • Ensure working capital is managed effectively
  • Facilitate Macro Funding requests with treasury
  • Ensure inventory is managed effectively
  • Manage relationships with banking partners
  • To ensure remittance and petty cash is managed accurately
  • Investigate and resolve all remittance and petty cash reconciliations issues promptly
  • To ensure Mukuru sites are running optimally
  • Manage Regional Supervisor’s financial and quality audits across sites
  • Monitor that all sites trade during trading hours
  • To ensure compliance with all regulatory and reporting requirements
  • Oversee internal compliance
  • To perform a general management function for the team
  • Oversee the on-boarding and off-boarding of all employees
  • Conduct performance reviews and monthly KPI discussions with all direct reports
  • Coach and mentor team
  • Manage leave requests and HR related administration for all direct reports
  • Participate in recruitment processes for team
  • To manage own professional and self-development

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent (Essential)
  • Relevant degree/diploma (Desirable)
  • 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role in financial services environment (Essential)
  • Knowledge of foreign exchange
  • Knowledge of scheduling and CIT
  • Knowledge of exchange control regulations
  • Knowledge of MLPCA regulations
  • Knowledge of budget management
  • Knowledge of HR principles
