The Mukuru SA Outbound Peak Period Campaign (“the Campaign”) is being run by Mukuru Africa (Pty) Ltd (Company Registration number 2013/003424/07) (“Mukuru”) between 12 November – 31 January 2025 (“the Campaign Period”) subject to these specific terms and conditions and the general terms and conditions for Campaigns and Campaigns which can be found at www.mukuru.com (“Campaign Ts & Cs”).
By participating in the Campaign, you confirm that you have read and agree to be legally bound by the Campaign Ts & Cs.

Campaign Entry Requirements:
To qualify to participate in the Campaign, you must:
be a registered Mukuru Customer in South Africa (as defined by Mukuru);
have a valid passport or SA ID document at the time of the Campaign;
have a valid South African Driver’s License at the time of the Campaign (only applicable to the Grand Prize);
send an international money transfer from South Africa to any country in which Mukuru operates on any Mukuru platform for R700 (seven hundred Rand) or more. Each send will ensure 1 entry into a random draw (“qualifying send”);
sign up as a Mukuru customer and send R700 or more on any Mukuru platform internationally within 24 hours of signing up as a Mukuru customer (only applicable to Weekly Prizes)
you must comply with these terms and conditions.
Persons who fulfil the requirements of clause 2.1 above will be referred to as “Qualifying Participants” for the purposes of the Campaign.
Mukuru processes your personal information when you use the Mukuru Service. Protecting your personal information is important to Mukuru and processing is done according to our Privacy Notice. When we run Campaigns and you qualify for a Prize, Mukuru will need to process your personal information for additional purposes. For example, your personal information may be used to validate your entry, make the reward available to you if you are a winner and potentially share your personal information with 3rd parties (including 3rd parties in other countries) who need to know. We will ensure those 3rd parties have adequate data protection safeguards in place. Mukuru also announces the winners on social media and if this Campaign includes Mukuru wanting to post photos or videos of you as a Winner on our social media, you will be asked if you agree thereto, and you have the right to withhold consent.
The Prize
All Qualifying Participants will be entered into a random draw to stand a chance of winning one of the following Prizes during the Campaign Period:
Weekly Prizes: 20x Airtime and Data Vouchers each per week:
Data vouchers will be worth2 GB (two gigabytes) per voucher; and
Airtime vouchers will be worth R30.
The value of the data vouchers will depend on the packages available from the different mobile networks.
The Winners will be drawn from qualifying sends during the week of the Prize being given away and will subsequently not qualify for a Prize the next week unless they send again during that week.
Monthly Prizes: 2x generators will be given away each month over 2 months throughout the Campaign Period. The Winners will be drawn out of qualifying sends during the month of the Prize being given away and will subsequently not qualify for a Prize the next month unless they send again during that month.
Grand Prizes: 2x Toyota Hilux Single Cab 2.4 bakkies with trailer combos will be given away in January 2025. The Winners will be drawn out of all the Qualifying Participants during the Campaign Period.
A random draw will take place for each of the Prizes as mentioned in clause 3.1. on a weekly or monthly basis and for the 2x Grand Prizes, a final random draw on 8 January 2025.
Winners will be contacted on the number linked to the Mukuru account that made the minimum send under clause 2.1. If a Winner is not reachable after 3 attempts over 48 hours, the Prize will be forfeited, and the next Winner will be contacted.
After Mukuru successfully contacts a Winner they are required to have the following in place before they are allowed to take ownership of the Prize:
have a valid SA ID or Passport at the time of the Campaign (applicable to all Prizes);
have a valid driver’s license at the time of the Campaign (only applicable to the Grand Prize ); and
successfully secure vehicle insurance within 5 days of being contacted by Mukuru (only applicable to the Grand Prize)
If a Winner fails to comply with clause 3.3 and 3.4, the Prize will be forfeited, and the next Winner will be contacted.
The Winners of the Weekly and Monthly Prizes will be announced on a weekly/monthly basis, and the 2x Winners of the Grand Prize will be announced on 15 Janaury 2025. All announcements will be made on the Mukuru SA Facebook page.
The Winner of a Weekly Prize will be contacted by Mukuru and the Prizes will be issued as follows:
Data vouchers – the Winner will provide Mukuru with their mobile network provider and will receive an SMS to confirm the upload of the voucher to their chosen number;
Airtime voucher – the voucher will be sent to the number affiliated with the Winner’s Mukuru account.
The Winner of a Monthly Prize will provide Mukuru with their registered address to ship the Prize to the Winner at Mukuru’s cost. Mukuru will not take any responsibility for any delays or damage caused to the Prize by the chosen courier company.
The Winner of a Grand Prize will need to collect their Prize, at his/her own cost, at the Hyde Park Toyota dealership situated at 355 Jan Smuts Ave, Hyde Park, Sandton, 2146, or such other place as Mukuru may make it available to the Winner from time to time. The Winner will also have to present his/her ID/Passport and valid driver’s license upon collection.
General
Mukuru employees will not be allowed to enter the Campaign.
Qualifying Participants must be 18 years or older.
Qualifying Participants cannot participate in the Campaign if they have won any Prizes in the past 12 months.
If for any reason, the Campaign cannot run as planned because of any technical failures, unauthorised intervention, computer virus, mobile network failure, stock unavailability, tampering, fraud or any other causes beyond our control that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Campaign, we reserve the right to cancel, terminate, modify, suspend or cancel the Campaign and/or to disqualify any individual who (whether directly or indirectly) causes (or has caused) the problem.
Mukuru may vary the terms of or cancel the Campaign at any time. Mukuru may vary or cancel the Campaign at any time without any liability to any person involved directly or indirectly in the Campaign.
The Prize is not transferrable for cash or otherwise.
Mukuru cannot be held liable for any loss, expense, or damage to any person participating in the Campaign. Mukuru does not endorse the Prizes and the Prizes are made available “as is”. Any warranties/guarantees available in respect of the Prizes will be those made available by the manufacturer and Mukuru makes no warranties as to merchantability, functionality, fit-for-purpose, or quality of the Prizes.
Mukuru cannot be held liable for any failure to deliver the airtime or data which is attributable to technical failures outside of Mukuru’s control or because of a Qualifying Participant’s Mobile Operating Network rejecting the airtime/data load as a result of the Qualifying Participant’s particular mobile plan (for example an annual contract plan).
A failure by Mukuru to enforce any one of the terms and conditions in any instance(s) will not give rise to any claim or right of action by any Qualifying Participant. If Mukuru does not enforce a provision, this will not mean that Mukuru has given up on or lost any rights.
Mukuru will not assume any liability to any participant, or Qualifying Participant in connection with or arising out of the Campaign however it is caused, including for any costs, expenses, forfeited rewards, damages, and other liabilities
These Campaign Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of South Africa.
