Terms & Conditions for Mukuru Card Incentive Campaign

  1. Introduction
    1. The Mukuru Card Incentive Campaign (“the Campaign”) is being run by Mukuru Financial Services (Pty) Ltd (Company Registration number 2008/025860/07 and FSP license number 45517) (“Mukuru”) from  6 May 2024 – 2 June 2024 (“the Campaign Period”) subject to these specific terms and conditions and the general terms and conditions for Competitions and Campaigns which can be found at www.mukuru.com (“Campaign Ts & Cs”). 
    2. By participating in the Campaign, you confirm that you have read and agree to be legally bound by the Campaign Ts & Cs.

  2. Campaign Entry Requirements:
    1. To qualify to participate in the Campaign, you must:
      1. be a registered South African Mukuru Customer;
      2. have signed up with Mukuru Card in March 2024; 
      3. fall within the following categories of Mukuru Card customers:
        1. Category 1 – who have not purchased electricity after signing up during March 2024 until the Campaign Period; or
        2. Category 2 – who purchased airtime but not electricity after signing up during March 2024 until the Campaign Period;
      4. have purchased any amount of electricity during the Campaign Period; and
      5. have received communication via the Mukuru SMS or WhatsApp platforms regarding the Campaign.
    2. Persons who fulfill the requirements of clause 2.1 above will be referred to as “Qualifying Participants” for the Campaign.
  3. The Prize
    1. All Qualifying Participants will be entered into a weekly random draw to stand a chance to win R10 airtime (“the Prize”) that will be uploaded onto the mobile telephone number registered under the qualifying Mukuru Card.
    2. Weekly random draws will be held on the following dates:
      1. 13 May 2024;
      2. 20 May 2024;
      3. 27 May 2024; and
      4. 2 June 2024
    3. There will be a total of 500 (five hundred) Winners throughout the Campaign Period.
    4. The weekly Winners will be contacted via SMS on the day of the weekly random draw to confirm that they have won and that the Prize has been uploaded to their mobile telephone number.
    5. Should you not have been contacted within 14 (fourteen) days from the end of the Campaign Period, it is accepted that you are not a Winner of the Campaign.
  4. General
    1. Mukuru employees and agents will not be allowed to enter the Campaign. 
    2. Qualifying Participants must be 18 years or older.
    3. Qualifying Participants cannot participate in the Campaign more than once and weekly Winners are not able to win more than once during the Campaign Period
    4. If for any reason, the Campaign cannot run as planned because of any technical failures, unauthorised intervention, computer virus, mobile network failure, stock unavailability, tampering, fraud or any other causes beyond our control which corrut or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Campaign, we reserve the right to cancel, terminate, modify, suspend or cancel the Campaign and/or to disqualify any individual who (whether directly or indirectly) causes (or has caused) the problem. 
    5. Mukuru may vary the terms of or cancel the Campaign at any time. Mukuru may vary or cancel the Campaign at any time without any liability to any person involved directly or indirectly in the Campaign. 
    6. Mukuru cannot be held liable for any failure to deliver the airtime which is attributable to technical failures outside of Mukuru’s control or because of a Qualifying Participant’s Mobile Operating Network rejecting the airtime load as a result of the Qualifying Participant’s particular mobile plan (for example an annual contract plan).
    7. Mukuru cannot be held liable for any loss, expense or damage to any person participating in the Campaign.
    8. A failure by Mukuru to enforce any one of the terms and conditions in any instance(s) will not give rise to any claim or right of action by any Qualifying Participant. If Mukuru does not enforce a provision, this will not mean that Mukuru has given up on or lost any rights.
    9. Mukuru will not assume any liability to any participant, or Qualifying Participant in connection with or arising out of the Campaign however it is caused, including for any costs, expenses, forfeited rewards, damages, and other liabilities 
    10. These Campaign Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of South Africa.
