Terms & Conditions for Send with Mukuru and Pep Campaign

  1. Introduction
    1. The Send with Mukuru and Pep Campaign (“the Campaign”) is being run by Mukuru Africa (Pty) Ltd (Company Registration number 2013/003424/07) (“Mukuru) and PEP, with Registration number 1958/003362/07, from 1 April to 6 May 2024 (“the Campaign Period”) subject to these specific terms and conditions and the general terms and conditions for Campaigns and Campaigns which can be found at www.mukuru.com (“Campaign Ts & Cs”). 
    2. By participating in the Campaign, you confirm that you have read and agree to be legally bound by the Campaign Ts & Cs.

  2. Campaign Entry Requirements:
    1. To qualify to participate in the Campaign, you must:
      1. be a registered Mukuru Customer and living South Africa;pay for any International Mukuru Remittance order at any PEP store within South Africa;
      2. send a minimum of R700 per order;
      3. comply with these terms and conditions.
    2. Persons who fulfil the requirements of clause 2.1 above will be referred to as “Qualifying Participants” for the purposes of the Campaign.
    3. Mukuru and PEP process your personal information when you use the Mukuru Service. Protecting your personal information is important to Mukuru and processing is done according to our Privacy Notice. When we run Campaigns and you qualify for a Prize, Mukuru will need to process your personal information for additional purposes.  For example, your personal information may be used to validate your entry, make the reward available to you if you are a winner and potentially share your personal information with 3rd parties (including 3rd parties in other countries) who have a need to know.  We will ensure those 3rd parties have adequate data protection safeguards in place. Mukuru also announces the winners on social media.   If the Campaign includes Mukuru or PEP wanting to post photos of you as a winner on social media, you will be asked if you agree thereto.
  3. The Prize
    1. All Qualifying Participants will be put into a weekly random draw and stand a chance to win the following Prize:
      1. R10 000.00 (ten thousand Rand) in cash, paid into the Mukuru account you used to create the order as referenced in clause 2 or any bank account belonging to a Winner.
    2. Winners will be contacted telephonically on the telephone number linked to their Mukuru Accounts.
    3. Mukuru will contact Winners a total of 3 (three) times over a period of 2 (two) days after each respective selection date.
    4. Should a Winner not be contactable over the 3 (three) attempts, they will forfeit their right to the Prize and the next Qualifying Participant will be contacted.
    5. A maximum of 5 (five) winners will be selected on the following dates:
      1. 8 April 2024;
      2. 15 April 2024;
      3. 22 April 2024;
      4. 29 April 2024; and
      5. 6 May 2024.
    6. Winners will be announced on the official Mukuru Facebook Page after each weekly random draw.
  4. General
    1. Mukuru and PEP employees and agents will not be allowed to enter the Campaign. 
    2. Qualifying Participants cannot win more than once and the Prize cannot be exchanged for anything else.
    3. If for any reason, the Campaign cannot run as planned because of any technical failures, unauthorised intervention, computer virus, mobile network failure, stock unavailability, tampering, fraud or any other causes beyond our control which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Campaign, we reserve the right to cancel, terminate, modify, suspend or cancel the Campaign and/or to disqualify any individual who (whether directly or indirectly) causes (or has caused) the problem. 
    4. Mukuru and PEP may vary the terms of or cancel the Campaign at any time. Mukuru may vary or cancel the Campaign at any time without any liability to any person involved directly or indirectly in the Campaign. 
    5. Mukuru and PEP cannot be held liable for any loss, expense, or damage to any person participating in the Campaign.
    6. A failure by Mukuru or PEP to enforce any one of the terms and conditions in any instance(s) will not give rise to any claim or right of action by any Qualifying Participant. If Mukuru does not enforce a provision, this will not mean that Mukuru has given up on or lost any rights.
    7. Mukuru and PEP will not assume any liability to any participant, or Qualifying Participant in connection with or arising out of the Campaign however it is caused, including for any costs, expenses, forfeited rewards, damages and other liabilities 
    8. These Campaign Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of South Africa.
