The Mukuru Birthday Competition (“the Competition”) is being run by Mukuru Africa (Pty) Ltd with registration number 2013/003424/07 (“Mukuru”) from 1 September 2022 to 30 September 2022 (“the Competition Period”) subject to these specific terms and conditions and the general terms and conditions for competitions and competitions which can be found at www.mukuru.com (“Competition Ts & Cs”).
By participating in the Competition, you confirm that you have read and agree to be legally bound by the Competition Ts & Cs.

Competition Entry Requirements:
In order to enter the Competition, you must:
be a registered Mukuru customer residing in South Africa;
send R700 (Seven Hundred Rand) or more to your chosen recipient, using the Mukuru Service during the Competition Period;
must pay in the R700 at a Mukuru kiosk, branch or pay-in partner situated in the Johannesburg/Pretoria area;
abide by all the Competition Ts and Cs.
Persons who fulfil the requirements set out in clause 2.1 above will be referred to as “Qualifying Participants” for the purposes of the Competition.
Mukuru and must process your personal information to validate your entry and if you are a winner, to make the Prize available to you. By entering the Competition, you consent to us processing your personal information for this purpose. If you do not consent, please do not enter the Competition.
Winner selection and prizes
All Qualifying Participants will be entered into a random draw where twenty five (25) lucky winners will win two (2) tickets to attend the Mukuru Watch Party, a VIP party to watch Crystal Palace versus Chelsea on 1 October 2022. If a Qualifying Participant sent their money using their Mukuru Card and is drawn as a winner, he/she will, in addition to the tickets, also win a cash amount of R10,000 (Ten Thousand Rand).
The Mukuru Watch Party prize consists of two tickets to the Mukuru Watch Party only. The winner will be liable for all other costs associated with utilizing the prize, including but not limited to travel to and from the party (to be held in Bryanston), accommodation, refreshments etc.
A random draw will take place on 8, 15 and 22 September 2022 and the winners will be contacted telephonically.
A winner will be emailed and/or Whatsapp’ed his/her invitation seven (7) business days from the date of announcement of the winners. The cash prize of R10,000 (if applicable to the winner) will be paid directly into the winner’s Mukuru Card.
Should Mukuru be unable to contact a winner or transfer the prize to a winner within 7 (seven) days of the applicable random draw, the prize will be forfeited.
General
Mukuru employees, directors, agents, contractors, consultants will not be allowed to enter the competition.
Qualifying Participant must be 18 years or older.
A Qualifying Participant cannot win more than once during the competition period.
If the winner is not fully vaccinated, Mukuru cannot guarantee that the winner will be able to make use of the prize in full or in part and Mukuru disclaims all liability in this regard.
Mukuru cannot guarantee that the winner will be able to enter the party and disclaims all liability in this regard.
The prize cannot be exchanged for cash or another reward.
If for any reason, the Competition cannot run as planned because of any technical failures, unauthorised intervention, computer virus, mobile network failure, tampering, fraud or any other causes beyond our control which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Competition, Mukuru reserve the right to cancel, terminate, modify, suspend or cancel the Competition and/or to disqualify any individual who (whether directly or indirectly) causes (or has caused) the problem.
Mukuru may vary the terms of or cancel the Competition at any time. Mukuru may vary or cancel the Competition at any time without any liability to any person involved directly or indirectly in the Competition.
Mukuru cannot be held liable for any loss, expense or damage to any person participating in the Competition.
Neither Mukuru nor its agents shall be responsible for any loss or misdirected entries, including entries that were not received due to any failure of hardware, software, or other computer or technical systems affecting participating and/or prize redemption process of the Competition.
A failure by Mukuru to enforce any one of the terms and conditions in any instance(s) will not give rise to any claim or right of action by any Qualifying Entrant. If Mukuru does not enforce a provision, this will not mean that Mukuru has given up on or lost any rights.
Mukuru will not assume any liability to any participant, or Qualifying Entrant in connection with or arising out of the Competition or Prize however it is caused, including for any costs, expenses, forfeited rewards, damages and other liabilities.
These Competition Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of South Africa.
