Terms & Conditions for the International Day of Family Remittances Competition

  1. Introduction
    1. The International Day of Family Remittances Competition (“the Competition”) is being run by Mukuru Africa (Pty) Ltd (Company Registration number 2013/003424/07) (“Mukuru”) from 16 June 2020 – 18 June 2020 (“the Competition Period”) subject to these specific terms and conditions and the general terms and conditions for competitions and Competitions which can be found at www.mukuru.com (“Competition Ts & Cs”).
    2. By participating in the Competition, you confirm that you have read and agree to be legally bound by the Competition Ts & Cs.

  2. Competition Entry Requirements:
    1. To enter the Competition, you must:
      1. be a Mukuru Customer; and
      2. you must send money and pay for the order during the Competition Period to any recipient using the Mukuru Service.
    2. By entering the Competition, you are granting Mukuru permission and authority to use your name and any photo you use in this Competition for the purposes of this Competition and for any other marketing communication.
    3. Persons who fulfil the requirements of clause 2.1 and 2.2 above will be referred to as “Qualifying Participants” for the purposes of the Competition.
  3. The Prize
    1. A total of 10 (ten) prizes will be given away to Qualifying Participants. The prize consists of a grocery voucher to use at Shoprite and Checkers stores to the value of R500 (five hundred Rand) (winners living in South Africa only) or R500 cash if the winner is not living in South Africa.
    2. 10 (ten) Winners will be randomly chosen and announced on the 19th of June 2020.
  4. Collecting your Prize
    1. Each Qualifying Entrant who receives a Prize will be announced on Mukuru’s Facebook page.
    2. Winners receiving a grocery voucher will receive it via SMS and will receive a phone call to notify them of the grocery voucher.
    3. If a winner does not live in South Africa the cash prize of R500 will be paid into the winner’s bank account.
    4. If Mukuru is unable to transfer the Prize to you, then the Prize will be forfeited.
  5. General
    1. Mukuru employees will not be allowed to enter the Competition.
    2. Qualifying Participants must be 18 years or older.
    3. If for any reason, the Competition cannot run as planned because of any technical failures, unauthorised intervention, computer virus, mobile network failure, tampering, fraud or any other causes beyond our control which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Competition, we reserve the right to cancel, terminate, modify, suspend or cancel the Competition and/or to disqualify any individual who (whether directly or indirectly) causes (or has caused) the problem.
    4. Mukuru may vary the terms of or cancel the Competition at any time. Mukuru may vary or cancel the Competition at any time without any liability to any person involved directly or indirectly in the Competition.
    5. The grocery voucher is not transferrable for cash, unless otherwise determined in Mukuru’s sole discretion.
    6. Mukuru cannot be held liable for any loss, expense or damage to any person participating in the Competition.
    7. A failure by Mukuru to enforce any one of the terms and conditions in any instance(s) will not give rise to any claim or right of action by any Qualifying Entrant. If Mukuru does not enforce a provision, this will not mean that Mukuru has given up on or lost any rights.
    8. Mukuru will not assume any liability to any participant, or Qualifying Entrant in connection with or arising out of the Competition however it is caused, including for any costs, expenses, forfeited Prizes, damages and other liabilities
    9. These Competition Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of South Africa.
