Terms & Conditions for the Lesotho MoAfrica Radio Competition

  1. Introduction
    1. The Lesotho MoAfrica Radio Competition (“the Competition”) is being run by Mukuru Bureau de Change (Pty) Ltd with registration number 53578 (“Mukuru”) from 1 March 2021 to 28 March 2021 (“the Competition Period”) subject to these specific terms and conditions and the general terms and conditions for competitions and Competitions which can be found at www.mukuru.com (“Competition Ts & Cs”). 
    2. By participating in the Competition, you confirm that you have read and agree to be legally bound by the Competition Ts & Cs.

  2. Competition Entry Requirements
    1. In order to enter the Competition, you must:
      1. reside in Lesotho; and
      2. be 18 years or older.
    2. Persons who fulfill the requirements of clause 2.1 above will be referred to as “Qualifying Entrants” for the purposes of the Competition.
  3. Winner selection and prizes
    1. Every Friday during the Competition Period (being 5 March, 12 March, 19 March and 26 March) during the morning show time slot, the radio presenter(s) of MoAfrica FM Lesotho will ask the audience one Mukuru-related question and inform the audience to phone into the radio station with the answer to stand a chance to win a prize.
    2. The first Qualifying Entrant to call into the radio station on the applicable Friday and answer the question correctly on the air will win R500 (Five hundred Rand) (“the Prize”).
    3. Should the winner have collected a Mukuru order at a Mukuru orange booth in Lesotho during the month of March 2021 (strictly before the call into the radio station), the Prize will be doubled to R1000 (One thousand Rand). Mukuru will verify whether the winner indeed collected a Mukuru order as stipulated aforesaid, and Mukuru reserves the right to refuse to double the Prize if it is unable to verify such collection.
    4. There will be a total of 4 (four) winners (one each week) during the Competition Period.
  4. Announcement of winners
    1. The weekly winner will be announced on the air by the radio presenter(s);
    2. The winner will also be contacted telephonically by Mukuru to arrange for delivery of the Prize;
    3. If Mukuru is unable to transfer the Prize to you within 4 (four) days, then the Prize will be forfeited.
  5. Collection of prizes
    1. Each winner will be able to select to:
      1. have the amount paid into the winner’s bank account, or
      2. collect the amount at a Mukuru orange booth in Lesotho; or
      3. remit the amount to a recipient of his/her choice in applicable countries, using the Mukuru Service.
    2. At the election of the winner, the prize amount can be paid in South African Rand or can be converted into Lesotho loti.
    3. If the cash prize is remitted using the Mukuru Service to a recipient, the cash prize will be converted (on the date on which the winners are announced) into the official currency of the country in which the recipient is located.
  6. General
    1. Mukuru employees will not be allowed to enter the Competition. 
    2. If for any reason, the Competition cannot run as planned because of any technical failures, unauthorised intervention, computer virus, mobile network failure, tampering, fraud or any other causes beyond our control which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Competition, we reserve the right to cancel, terminate, modify, suspend or cancel the Competition and/or to disqualify any individual who (whether directly or indirectly) causes (or has caused) the problem.
    3. Mukuru may vary the terms of or cancel the Competition at any time. Mukuru may vary or cancel the Competition at any time without any liability to any person involved directly or indirectly in the Competition.
    4. A Qualifying Entrant cannot win more than one Prize during the Competition Period.
    5. Mukuru cannot be held liable for any loss, expense or damage to any person participating in the Competition.
    6. A failure by Mukuru to enforce any one of the terms and conditions in any instance(s) will not give rise to any claim or right of action by any Qualifying Entrant. If Mukuru does not enforce a provision, this will not mean that Mukuru has given up on or lost any rights.
    7. Mukuru will not assume any liability to any participant, or Qualifying Entrant in connection with or arising out of the Competition however it is caused, including for any costs, expenses, forfeited rewards, damages and other liabilities
    8. These Competition Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Lesotho.
