1. Introduction
    1. The Mukuru and FDH Competition (“the Competition”) is being run by Mukuru Africa (Pty) Ltd  (Company Registration number 2013/003424/07)  trading as Mukuru (“Mukuru”) from 27 December 2021 to 6 January 2022 (“the Competition Period”) subject to these specific terms and conditions and the general terms and conditions for competitions which can be found at www.mukuru.com (“Competition Ts & Cs”)
    2. By participating in the Competition, you and the recipient confirm that you have both read and agree to be legally bound by the Competition Ts & Cs (as may be applicable).

  2. Competition Entry Requirements:
    1. In order to qualify for entry into the Competition:
      1. You, the sender, must be a registered Mukuru Customer in South Africa (as defined by Mukuru);
      2. You, the sender, must send at least R600 (Six Hundred Rand) to a recipient of your choice in Malawi, during the Competition Period;
      3. You, the sender, must make sure your recipient in Malawi collects the order from a Mukuru branch or Mukuru Booth or an FDH Bank branch;
      4. The sender and the recipient must abide by all the Competition Ts and Cs.
    2. Mukuru must process your personal information to validate your entry and if you are a winner, to make the Prize available to you. By entering the Competition, you consent to us processing your personal information for this purpose. If you do not consent, please do not enter the Competition.
    3. Senders and their recipients who fulfil the requirements of clause 2.1 and 2.2 above will be referred to as “Qualifying Participants” for the purposes of the Competition.
  3. The Prize
    1. All Qualifying Participants will be entered into the draw to win one of two Prizes. One winner will be selected from Malawi Qualifying Participants (the recipients) and one winner will be selected from South African Qualifying Participants (the senders).
    2. Each Prize consists of the following:
      1. 2 x stadium entry tickets to watch the Malawi vs Senegal match live in Cameroon on the 18th of January 2022;
      2. Return flight tickets (economy class on a carrier of Mukuru’s choice) from Malawi or South Africa to Cameroon on the 17th of January 2022 and back on the 19th of January 2022 for the winner and the chosen partner;
      3. Costs of a covid test in South Africa and Cameroon for the winner and the chosen partner;
      4. Accommodation (of Mukuru’s choice) for the 17th and 18th of January 2022 in Cameroon for the winner and partner;
      5. Spending money in the amount of R3000 (three thousand Rand) to be converted into the local currency which can be sued by the winner and the chosen partner together.
      6. If the winner is unable to travel to Cameroon for whatever reason on the dates stipulated in clause 3.2 or if the winner opts not to travel for safety or health concerns, Mukuru shall remit to the winner a cash amount of R30,000 (thirty thousand rand) instead. For the avoidance of doubt, Mukuru will not compensate any chosen partner of the winner under any circumstances.
    3. Exclusions: all expenses not expressly listed in clause 3.2 above. The winner and the chosen partner will be solely responsible for all such expenses.
    4. Winners will be announced and contacted on the 7th of January 2022. If a winner cannot be contacted after three tries, the winner will forfeit the Prize.
  4. General
    1. Mukuru employees will not be allowed to enter the Competition.
    2. Qualifying Participants must be 18 years or older.
    3. A Qualifying Participant can only win once during the Competition Period.
    4. If the winner is not fully vaccinated, Mukuru cannot guarantee that the winner will be able to make use of the Prize in full or in part and Mukuru disclaims all liability in this regard.
    5. The winner needs to hold a valid passport.
    6. Mukuru cannot guarantee that the winner will be able to enter into Cameroon, the accommodation provided or into the stadium and disclaims all liability in this regard.
    7. If for any reason, the Competition cannot run as planned because of any technical failures, unauthorised intervention, computer virus, mobile network failure, tampering, fraud or any other causes beyond our control which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Competition, we reserve the right to cancel, terminate, modify, suspend or cancel the Competition and/or to disqualify any individual who (whether directly or indirectly) causes (or has caused) the problem.
    8. Mukuru may vary the terms of or cancel the Competition at any time. Mukuru may vary or cancel the Competition at any time without any liability to any person involved directly or indirectly in the Competition.
    9. Mukuru cannot be held liable for any type of loss, expense or damage to any person participating in the Competition.
    10. Neither Mukuru nor its agents shall be responsible for any loss or misdirected entries, including entries that were not received due to any failure of hardware, software, or other computer or technical systems affecting participating and/or prize redemption process of the Competition.
    11. A failure by Mukuru to enforce any one of the terms and conditions in any instance(s) will not give rise to any claim or right of action by any Qualifying Entrant or winner. If Mukuru does not enforce a provision, this will not mean that Mukuru has given up on or lost any rights.
    12. Mukuru will not assume any liability to any participant, Qualifying Participant, or prize winner in connection with or arising out of the Competition however it is caused, including for any costs, expenses, forfeited prizes, damages and other liabilities
    13. These Competition Terms and Conditions are governed by and determined in accordance with the laws of South Africa.
