Terms & Conditions for the Mukuru Malawi Mother’s Day Competition

  1. Introduction
    1. The Mukuru Malawi Mother’s Day Competition (“the Competition”) is being run by Mukuru Africa (Pty) Ltd (Company Registration number 2013/003424/07) (“Mukuru”) from 14 October 2020 – 16 October 2020 (“the Competition Period”) subject to these specific terms and conditions and the general terms and conditions for Competitions which can be found at www.mukuru.com (“Competition Ts & Cs”).
    2. By participating in the Competition, you confirm that you have read and agree to be legally bound by the Competition Ts & Cs.

  2. Competition Entry Requirements:
    1. To qualify to participate in the Competition, you must:
      1. Complete and submit the Contest Form on Mukuru’s Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/mukurudotcom or on Mukuru’s Twitter page https://twitter.com/mukurudotcom during the Competition Period and tell Mukuru something amazing about your mother or your mother figure; and
      2. abide by all applicable Ts & Cs.
    2. By entering the Competition, you are:
      1. granting Mukuru permission and authority to use your name and any photo you use in this Competition for the purposes of this Competition and for marketing communication as permitted by law; and
      2. you are giving Mukuru permission to process your personal information that you provide to us via Mukuru’s social media platforms as well as via the form to be completed, which is made available by a 3rd party. Please note that the 3rd party will not use your personal information for any other purpose other than for the purposes of this Competition.
    3. You do not need to be a Mukuru Customer to qualify for the Competition.
    4. Participants who fulfil the requirements of clause 2.1 above will be referred to as “Qualifying Participants” for the purposes of the Competition.
  3. The Prize
    1. Twenty (20) Qualifying Participants will be randomly selected from the group of Qualifying Participants as the winners using https://coderubik.com/.
    2. A total of twenty (20) winners will be chosen during the Competition Period.
    3. The winners will each receive R500 (five hundred Rand) which will be sent to their chosen bank account (“the Prize”).
    4. For winners located outside South Africa, the prize will be the equivalent of R500 (five hundred Rand) converted (on the date on which the winners are announced) into the official currency of the country in which the winner is located.
  4. Announcement of winners
    1. The winners will be announced on Mukuru’s Facebook and Twitter pages on 16 October 2020.
    2. If Mukuru is unable to contact the winner and/or the prize cannot be transferred to the winner within 4 (four) calendar days, then the prize will be forfeited.
  5. General
    1. Mukuru employees will not be allowed to enter the Competition.
    2. Qualifying Participants must be 18 years or older.
    3. If for any reason, the Competition cannot run as planned because of any technical failures, unauthorised intervention, computer virus, mobile network failure, tampering, fraud or any other causes beyond our control which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Competition, we reserve the right to cancel, terminate, modify, suspend or cancel the Competition and/or to disqualify any individual who (whether directly or indirectly) causes (or has caused) the problem.
    4. Mukuru may vary the terms of or cancel the Competition at any time – without any liability to any person involved directly or indirectly in the Competition.
    5. The prize is not transferrable except as expressly stated herein.
    6. Mukuru cannot be held liable for any loss, expense or damage to any person participating in the Competition.
    7. A failure by Mukuru to enforce any one of the terms and conditions in any instance(s) will not give rise to any claim or right of action by any Qualifying Participant. If Mukuru does not enforce a provision, this will not mean that Mukuru has given up on or lost any rights.
    8. Mukuru will not assume any liability to any participant, or Qualifying Participant in connection with or arising out of the Competition however it is caused, including for any costs, expenses, forfeited rewards, damages and other liabilities.
    9. These Competition Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of South Africa.
