Terms & Conditions for the Planting Season Competition

  1. Introduction
    1. The Planting Season Competition (“the Competition”) is being run by Mukuru Africa (Pty) Ltd (Company Registration number 2013/003424/07) (“Mukuru”) from 2 November 2020 – 30 November 2020 (“the Competition Period”) subject to these specific terms and conditions and the general terms and conditions for Competitions which can be found at www.mukuru.com (“Competition Ts & Cs”).
    2. By participating in the Competition, you confirm that you have read and agree to be legally bound by the Competition Ts & Cs.

  2. Competition Entry Requirements:
    1. To qualify to participate in the Competition, you must:
      1. be a registered Mukuru Customer;
      2. send MWK25 000 (twenty-five thousand Malawian Kwacha) or more to your chosen recipient using the Mukuru Service during the Competition Period; and
      3. your recipient should collect funds at a Mukuru Branch or Mukuru Orange Booth in Malawi, at which point they will automatically be entered into the Competition;
      4. abide by all applicable Ts & Cs.
    2. Participants who fulfil the requirements of clause 2.1 above will be referred to as “Qualifying Participants” for the purposes of the Competition.
  3. The Prize
    1. Each winner will receive a MWK5 000.00 (five thousand Malawian Kwacha) voucher, valid at Farmer’s World and Agora in Malawi.
    2. A total of 2000 (two thousand) winners will be randomly chosen by Mukuru during the Competition Period. The random selection of winners will take place each week for 4 (four) weeks and 500 (five hundred) winners will be announced each week.
  4. Announcement of winners
    1. Weekly winners’ announcements
      1. Week one winners’ announcement: 10 November 2020
      2. Week two winners’ announcement: 17 November 2020
      3. Week three winners’ announcement: 24 November 2020
      4. Week four winners’ announcement: 1 December 2020
    2. The winners will be contacted telephonically by Mukuru.
    3. If Mukuru is unable to contact the winner and/or the prize cannot be transferred to the winner within 4 (four) calendar days, the prize will be forfeited and another winner will be randomly selected, the same process described in clause 3.2 will be followed to select a new winner.
  5. General
    1. Mukuru employees will not be allowed to enter the Competition.
    2. Qualifying Participants must be 18 years or older.
    3. If for any reason, the Competition cannot run as planned because of any technical failures, unauthorised intervention, computer virus, mobile network failure, tampering, fraud or any other causes beyond our control which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Competition, we reserve the right to cancel, terminate, modify, suspend or cancel the Competition and/or to disqualify any individual who (whether directly or indirectly) causes (or has caused) the problem.
    4. Mukuru may vary the terms of or cancel the Competition at any time – without any liability to any person involved directly or indirectly in the Competition.
    5. The prize is not transferrable for cash except as expressly stated herein.
    6. Mukuru cannot be held liable for any loss, expense or damage to any person participating in the Competition.
    7. A failure by Mukuru to enforce any one of the terms and conditions in any instance(s) will not give rise to any claim or right of action by any Qualifying Participant. If Mukuru does not enforce a provision, this will not mean that Mukuru has given up on or lost any rights.
    8. Mukuru will not assume any liability to any participant, or Qualifying Participant in connection with or arising out of the Competition however it is caused, including for any costs, expenses, forfeited rewards, damages and other liabilities.
    9. These Competition Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Malawi.
