Terms & Conditions for the Ramadan Charity Campaign

  1. Introduction 
    1. The Ramadan Charity Campaign (“the Competition”) is being run by Mukuru Africa (Pty) Ltd with registration number 2013/003424/07 (“Mukuru”) and Flash Mobile Vending (Pty) Ltd with registration number 2010/000777/07 (“Flash”) from 12 April 2021  to 11 May 2021 (“the Competition Period”) subject to these specific terms and conditions and the general terms and conditions for competitions and competitions which can be found at www.mukuru.com (“Competition Ts & Cs”). 
    2. By participating in the Competition, you confirm that you have read and agree to be legally bound by the Competition Ts & Cs.

  2. Competition Entry Requirements: 
    1. In order to enter the Competition, you must:
    2. be a registered South African Mukuru Customer; and
    3. using the Mukuru Service, send any amount of your choice from South Africa to Bangladesh or Pakistan during the Competition Period; and
      1. pay for your Mukuru order at any Flash vendor during the Competition Period. 
    4. Persons who fulfil the requirements of clause 2.1 above will be referred to as “Qualifying Participants” for the purposes of the Competition.
  3. Winner selection and prizes
    1. One random (1) winner will be selected per week from the Qualifying Participants, during the Competition Period. There will thus be a total of four (4) winners during the Competition Period.
    2. Winners will be selected and announced each week on 22 April, 29 April, 6 May and 13 May 2021. 
    3. Each winner will win an amount of R2000 (Two Thousand Rand) payable to the charity of their choice (“the Prize”). 
  4. Announcement of winners
    1. The winners will be contacted telephonically or via email (if available) and will be announced on Mukuru’s social media platforms;
    2. If Mukuru is unable to contact you within 4 (four) days, then the prize will be forfeited. 
  5. Payment of prizes
    1. Each winner will be contacted as set out in clause 4 above and will be requested to provide Mukuru with their charity of choice.
    2. Mukuru will remit the Prize to the winner’s charity of choice within 7-14 business days from the date that the winner informs Mukuru of the choice of charity.
    3. Mukuru will provide the winner with proof of payment of the Prize to the winner’s charity of choice as soon as reasonable.
  6. General 
    1. Mukuru and Flash employees, directors, agents, contractors, consultants will not be allowed to enter the competition.      
    2. Qualifying Entrants must reside in South Africa and be 18 years or older.
    3. If for any reason, the Competition cannot run as planned because of any technical failures, unauthorised intervention, computer virus, mobile network failure, tampering, fraud or any other causes beyond our control which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Competition, Mukuru and Flash reserve the right to cancel, terminate, modify, suspend or cancel the Competition and/or to disqualify any individual who (whether directly or indirectly) causes (or has caused) the problem. 
    4. Mukuru and Flash may vary the terms of or cancel the Competition at any time. Mukuru and Flash may vary or cancel the Competition at any time without any liability to any person involved directly or indirectly in the Competition. 
    5. Mukuru and Flash cannot be held liable for any loss, expense or damage to any person participating in the Competition.
    6. Neither Mukuru nor Flash nor its agents shall be responsible for any loss or misdirected entries, including entries that were not received due to any failure of hardware, software, or other computer or technical systems affecting participating and/or prize redemption process of the Competition.
    7. A failure by Mukuru and Flash to enforce any one of the terms and conditions in any instance(s) will not give rise to any claim or right of action by any Qualifying Entrant. If Mukuru and Flash do not enforce a provision, this will not mean that Mukuru and Flash have given up on or lost any rights.
    8. Mukuru and Flash will not assume any liability to any participant, or Qualifying Entrant in connection with or arising out of the Competition or Prize however it is caused, including for any costs, expenses, forfeited rewards, damages and other liabilities.
    9. These Competition Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of South Africa.
