Terms & Conditions for Mukuru’s Radaman Win Cash 2023 Competition

  1. Introduction
    1. The Mukuru Ramadan Win Cash Competition (“the Competition”) is being run by Mukuru Africa (Pty) Ltd (Company Registration number 2013/003424/07) (“Mukuru”) from  20 March 2023 to 31 May 2023 (“the Competition Period”) subject to these specific terms and conditions and the general terms and conditions for competitions and Competitions which can be found at www.mukuru.com (“Competition Ts & Cs”). 
    2. By participating in the Competition, you confirm that you have read and agree to be legally bound by the Competition Ts & Cs.

  2. Competition Entry Requirements: 
    1. To qualify to participate in the Competition, you must:
      1. be a registered Mukuru Customer (as defined by Mukuru);
      2. send money from South Africa to a recipient in either Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Malawi or Mozambique using the Mukuru Service during the Competition Period;
      3. You must comply with these terms and conditions.
    2. Persons who fulfil the requirements of clause 2.1 above will be referred to as “Qualifying Participants” for the purposes of the Competition.
    3. Mukuru processes your personal information when you use the Mukuru Service. Protecting your personal information is important to Mukuru and processing is done according to our Privacy Notice. When we run competitions and you qualify for a reward, Mukuru will need to process your personal information for additional purposes.  For example, your personal information may be used to validate your entry, make the reward available to you if you are a winner and potentially share your personal information with 3rd parties (including 3rd parties in other countries) who have a need to know.  We will ensure those 3rd parties have adequate data protection safeguards in place. Mukuru also announces the winners on social media.   If the Competition includes Mukuru wanting to post photos of you as a winner on social media, you will be asked if you agree thereto.
  3. The Reward
    1. All Qualifying Participants from South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Zambia, Uganda and Malawi will be entered into a random draw where one (1) Qualifying Participant will win R10,000 (Ten Thousand South African Rands) (“Prize’).
    2. Where the winner is not located in South Africa, the Prize will be converted into the winner’s local currency (for example Kacha or USD) upon date of transfer of the Prize to the winner. 
    3. The winner will be randomly selected and announced on social media after the 31st of May 2023. Winner will also be contacted via telephone. If Mukuru is not able to get hold of the winner after three telephone calls or if the winner does not supply Mukuru with the payment details or proof of identity as required, within 7 days, the winner will forfeit the Prize.
    4. The prize will be remitted to the winner via a Mukuru Order within seven (7) working days from the date that Mukuru receives the required payment details from the winner.
  4. General 
    1. Mukuru employees and agents will not be allowed to enter the Competition. 
    2. Qualifying Participants must be 18 years or older.
    3. If for any reason, the Competition cannot run as planned because of any technical failures, unauthorised intervention, computer virus, mobile network failure, stock unavailability, tampering, fraud or any other causes beyond our control which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Competition, we reserve the right to cancel, terminate, modify, suspend or cancel the Competition and/or to disqualify any individual who (whether directly or indirectly) causes (or has caused) the problem. 
    4. Mukuru may vary the terms of or cancel the Competition at any time. Mukuru may vary or cancel the Competition at any time without any liability to any person involved directly or indirectly in the Competition. 
    5. Mukuru cannot be held liable for any loss, expense or damage to any person participating in the Competition.
    6. A failure by Mukuru to enforce any one of the terms and conditions in any instance(s) will not give rise to any claim or right of action by any Qualifying Participant. If Mukuru does not enforce a provision, this will not mean that Mukuru has given up on or lost any rights.
    7. Mukuru will not assume any liability to any participant, or Qualifying Participant in connection with or arising out of the Competition however it is caused, including for any costs, expenses, forfeited rewards, damages and other liabilities 
    8. These Competition Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of South Africa.
