Terms & Conditions for the Mukuru Back to School Weekly Campaign

  1. Introduction
    1. The Mukuru Back to School Weekly Campaign (“the Campaign”) is being run by Mukuru Money Transfer Limited  (Company Registration number 120130109728) (“Mukuru”) from 8 February 2024 to 29 February 2024 (“the Campaign Period”) subject to these specific terms and conditions and the general terms and conditions for Campaigns and Campaigns which can be found at www.mukuru.com (“Campaign Ts & Cs”). 
    2. By participating in the Campaign, you confirm that you have read and agree to be legally bound by the Campaign Ts & Cs.

  2. Campaign Entry Requirements:
    1.  In order to enter the Campaign, you must:
      1. be residing in Zambia;
      2. be a registered Zambian Mukuru Customer (as defined by Mukuru); and
      3. send a minimum amount of K1,000 (One Thousand Kwacha) in any one transaction during the Campaign Period to any country where Mukuru Money Transfer operates.
    2. Persons who fulfil the requirements of clause 2.1 above will be referred to as “Qualifying Participants” for the purposes of the Campaign.
    3. A Qualifying Participant will get 1 (one) entry into the weekly draw for every single transaction to the amount of K1,000 (One Thousand Kwacha) or more.
    4. Mukuru processes your personal information when you use the Mukuru Service. Protecting your personal information is important to Mukuru and processing is done according to our Privacy Notice. When we run competitions and you qualify for a Offer, Mukuru will need to process your personal information for additional purposes.  For example, your personal information may be used to validate your entry, make the reward available to you if you are a winner and potentially share your personal information with 3rd parties (including 3rd parties in other countries) who need to know.  We will ensure those 3rd parties have adequate data protection safeguards in place. Mukuru also announces the Winners on social media.   If the Competition includes Mukuru wanting to post photos of you as a winner on social media, you will be asked if you agree thereto. 
  3. Winner selection and prizes
    1. Qualifying Participants will be selected as Winners through a random draw as follows:
      1. 3 (three) Winners during 12-18 February 2024;
      2. 3 (three) Winners during 19-25 February 2024;
      3. 2 (two) Winners during 26 – 29 February 2024.
    2. and they will win a BookWorld voucher to the value of K1,000.00 (One Thousand Kwacha), redeemable at any BookWorld store within Zambia (“the Prize”)
    3. A total of 8 (eight) Winners will be selected during the Campaign Period;
    4. Winners will be issued with the Prize at their nearest Mukuru Booth or Branch after being contacted. Proof of Identity will be required to redeem the Prize.
    5. Winners have 1 (one) month after being contacted by Mukuru to collect the Prize from their nearest Mukuru Booth or Branch, thereafter the Prize will be forfeited.
  4. Announcement of Winners
    1. The Winners will be contacted telephonically within 48 hours after the Winners were announced on the Mukuru Zambia Facebook Page weekly;
    2. Mukuru will call the winners at least 3 times within the campaign period. If the winner does not answer or provide the necessary details to process collection of the voucher, then the prize will be forfeited and a new winner will be contacted.
  5. General
    1. Mukuru employees and agents will not be allowed to enter the Campaign.      
    2. Vouchers will be valid for 6 (six) months after the collection date
    3. Qualifying Entrants must be 18 years or older.
    4. If for any reason, the Campaign cannot run as planned because of any technical failures, unauthorised intervention, computer virus, mobile network failure, tampering, fraud or any other causes beyond our control which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Campaign, Mukuru reserve the right to cancel, terminate, modify, suspend or cancel the Campaign and/or to disqualify any individual who (whether directly or indirectly) causes (or has caused) the problem. 
    5. Mukuru may vary the terms of or cancel the Campaign at any time. Mukuru may vary or cancel the Campaign at any time without any liability to any person involved directly or indirectly in the Campaign. 
    6. Mukuru may increase the number of Winners at its absolute discretion.
    7. Mukuru cannot be held liable for any loss, expense, or damage to any person participating in the Campaign, specifically for the loss or mismanagement of any Prizes afforded to Winners.
    8. Mukuru will not be liable for any expenses associated with the use of the Prize like transport costs to a store etc.
    9. Prizes may not be exchanged for cash or any other currency.
    10. Neither Mukuru nor its agents shall be responsible for any loss or misdirected entries, including entries that were not received due to any failure of hardware, software, or other computer or technical systems affecting the participating and/or prize redemption process of the Campaign.
    11. A failure by Mukuru to enforce any one of the terms and conditions in any instance(s) will not give rise to any claim or right of action by any Qualifying Entrant. If Mukuru does not enforce a provision, this will not mean that Mukuru has given up on or lost any rights.
    12. Mukuru will not assume any liability to any participant, or Qualifying Entrant in connection with or arising out of the Campaign or Prize however it is caused, including for any costs, expenses, forfeited rewards, damages, and other liabilities.
    13. These Campaign Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Zambia.
