Terms & Conditions for Mukuru’s Sign up on WhatsApp and Get Free Airtime Campaign

  1. Introduction
    1. The Mukuru Sign up on WhatsApp and Get Free Airtime Campaign (“the Campaign”) is being run by Mukuru Money Transfer Limited  (Company Registration number 13982) (“Mukuru”) from  20 – 30 November 2023 (“the Campaign Period”) subject to these specific terms and conditions and the general terms and conditions for competitions and Competitions which can be found at www.mukuru.com (“Competition Ts & Cs”). 
    2. By participating in the Campaign, you confirm that you have read and agree to be legally bound by the Competition Ts & Cs.

  2. Campaign Entry Requirements:
    1. To qualify to participate in the Campaign, you must:
      1. be residing in Zambia;
      2. successfully sign up and verify as a first-time customer via the Mukuru WhatsApp platform without the assistance of a Mukuru Agent;
      3. You must comply with these terms and conditions.
    2. Persons who fulfill the requirements of clause 2.1 above will be referred to as “Qualifying Participants” for the purposes of the Campaign.
    3. Mukuru processes your personal information when you use the Mukuru Service. Protecting your personal information is important to Mukuru and processing is done according to our Privacy Notice. When we run competitions and you qualify for a reward, Mukuru will need to process your personal information for additional purposes.  For example, your personal information may be used to validate your entry, make the reward available to you if you are a winner and potentially share your personal information with 3rd parties (including 3rd parties in other countries) who have a need to know.  We will ensure those 3rd parties have adequate data protection safeguards in place. Mukuru also announces the winners on social media.   If the Competition includes Mukuru wanting to post photos of you as a winner on social media, you will be asked if you agree thereto.
  3. The Prize
    1. All Qualifying Participants will get a once-off guaranteed K10 (Ten Kwacha) airtime (“the Prize”) valid in Zambia.
    2. The Prize will be limited to the first 500 (five hundred) Qualifying Participants.
    3. The Prize will be sent directly to the Qualifying Participant’s number of choice within 24 (twenty four) hours after being contacted by Mukuru.
    4. Mukuru will make contact with the Winner to verify the number of choice before sending the airtime. Winners will be contacted within 24 hours after successful sign up and verification. 
    5. Winners will be contacted 2 (two) times within the week they sign up the first time:
      1. First contact will be within 24hours of successful sign up and verification: and
      2. Second contact will be the second day after successful sign up and verification
    6. If a winner fails to respond or answer any of the attempts mentioned in clause 3.5 they will forfeit the prize and the next person will be contacted
    7. In the event that a customer did not receive the Prize within 24 hours after being contacted by Mukuru, they should contact Mukuru at [email protected] to claim their airtime within 30 (thirty) days of signing up and successful verification, allowing Mukuru to verify the customer’s sign update before sending the airtime.
  4. General
    1. Mukuru employees and agents will not be allowed to enter the Campaign. 
    2. Qualifying Participants must be 18 years or older.
    3. Qualifying Participants cannot participate in the Campaign more than once.
    4. If for any reason, the Campaign cannot run as planned because of any technical failures, unauthorised intervention, computer virus, mobile network failure, stock unavailability, tampering, fraud or any other causes beyond our control which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Campaign, we reserve the right to cancel, terminate, modify, suspend or cancel the Campaign and/or to disqualify any individual who (whether directly or indirectly) causes (or has caused) the problem. 
    5. Mukuru may vary the terms of or cancel the Campaign at any time. Mukuru may vary or cancel the Campaign at any time without any liability to any person involved directly or indirectly in the Campaign. 
    6. The airtime reward is not transferrable for cash or otherwise. 
    7. Mukuru cannot be held liable for any loss, expense or damage to any person participating in the Campaign.
    8. A failure by Mukuru to enforce any one of the terms and conditions in any instance(s) will not give rise to any claim or right of action by any Qualifying Participant. If Mukuru does not enforce a provision, this will not mean that Mukuru has given up on or lost any rights.
    9. Mukuru will not assume any liability to any participant, or Qualifying Participant in connection with or arising out of the Campaign however it is caused, including for any costs, expenses, forfeited rewards, damages, and other liabilities 
    10. These Campaign Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Zambia.
