Terms & Conditions for Mukuru’s Trolley Dash Competition

  1. Introduction
    1. The Mukuru Zimbabwe Trolley Dash Competition (“the Competition”) is being run by Send Money Home Private Limited  (Company Registration number 1446/2012 ) (“Mukuru”) from  3 April 2023 to 30 April 2023 (“the Competition Period”) subject to these specific terms and conditions and the general terms and conditions for competitions and Competitions which can be found at www.mukuru.com (“Competition Ts & Cs”). 
    2. By participating in the Competition, you confirm that you have read and agree to be legally bound by the Competition Ts & Cs.

  2. Competition Entry Requirements: 
    1. To qualify to participate in the Competition, you must:
      1. be a registered Mukuru Customer residing in Zimbabwe (as defined by Mukuru);
      2. send or receive a minimum of USD20 (Twenty US Dollars) via a Metro Peech and Browne Wholesaler Branch (excluding Marondera and Shrugwi) to a recipient located in Zimbabwe, using the Mukuru Service, during the Competition Period;
      3. You agree to comply with these terms and conditions.
    2. Persons who fulfil the requirements of clause 2.1 above will be referred to as “Qualifying Participants” for the purposes of the Competition.
    3. If you are a winner of a prize you agree that we may take a picture of you and/or receive a story and/or a picture from you on how you used the prize. You agree that we may use such picture and/or story on all our social media platforms for marketing purposes relating to the Competition and in this regard you give us a unrestricted, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, irrevocable license to so use your picture and/or story. You waive the right to inspect or approve any use of your picture or story by Mukuru and you waive any right to payment or additional consideration for Mukuru’s use of your picture or story. You release Mukuru from any actions, liabilities, losses, demands or claims that you or any third party may have now or in the future in respect of Mukuru’s use of your picture and/or story. If you send us a picture and the picture contains the images of third parties you expressly warrant that you have obtained the permission from such third parties (or, if under age, their legal guardians) that we may use such picture on all our social media platforms for marketing purposes relating to the Competition and you indemnify us against any claims by such third parties in this regard. If you do not consent, please do not enter the Competition.
  3. The Reward
    1. All of the applicable Qualifying Participants will together be entered into a single random draw and will stand a chance of winning one of 8 (Eight) 60 seconds Trolley Dash experiences at a Metro Peech and Browne Wholesaler Branch (excluding Marondera and Shurugwi) to the value of USD200 (Two Hundred US Dollars) each.
    2. Winners of the prizes will be contacted telephonically between 1 and 5 May 2023 and will also be announced once via social media.
    3. If Mukuru is unable to contact the winner telephonically after three (3) tries, then the prize will be forfeited.
    4. A winner will be able to choose any Metro Peech and Browne Wholesaler Branch (excluding Marondera and Shurugwi) at which to do the trolley dash. The trolley dash must take place on a specific date between 8 May 2023 and 24 May 2024, depending on the particular Branch chosen – Mukuru will advise the winner of the applicable date. If the winner is not able to attend at the Branch on the specific date, the winner will forfeit the prize.
    5. The winner must be able to present an ID, passport or driver’s license on the date of the trolley dash. Failure to do so will mean that the winner will forfeit the prize.
    6. The winner only has 60 (sixty) seconds for the trolley dash and is limited to one trolley during the dash.
    7. The total value of the goods in the trolley may not exceed USD200 (Two Hundred USD). Should the final total exceed USD200, the winner must choose which products to remove from their trolley. 5. Mukuru accepts no liability for any further and/or additional costs and/or expenses in relation to any additional costs of the products in their trolley.
    8. The winner may not receive any assistance from any third party during the trolley dash or will be disqualified. 
  4. General 
    1. Mukuru agents and employees will not be allowed to enter the Competition. 
    2. Qualifying Participants must be 18 years or older.
    3. Qualifying Participants can participate in the Competition many times but cannot win more than once during the Competition Period.
    4. If for any reason, the Competition cannot run as planned because of any technical failures, unauthorised intervention, computer virus, mobile network failure, stock unavailability, tampering, fraud or any other causes beyond our control which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Competition, we reserve the right to cancel, terminate, modify, suspend or cancel the Competition and/or to disqualify any individual who (whether directly or indirectly) causes (or has caused) the problem. 
    5. Mukuru may vary the terms of or cancel the Competition at any time. Mukuru may vary or cancel the Competition at any time without any liability to any person involved directly or indirectly in the Competition. 
    6. Unless expressly specified, a prize is not transferrable for cash or otherwise. 
    7. Mukuru cannot be held liable for any loss, expense or damage to any person participating in the Competition or as a result of using a prize. 
    8. Mukuru cannot be held liable for any faults or malfunction of the grand prize as a product and any warranties are solely with the manufacturer of the product.
    9. A failure by Mukuru to enforce any one of the terms and conditions in any instance(s) will not give rise to any claim or right of action by any Qualifying Participant. If Mukuru does not enforce a provision, this will not mean that Mukuru has given up on or lost any rights.
    10. Mukuru will not assume any liability to any participant, or Qualifying Participant in connection with or arising out of the Competition or a prize however it is caused, including for any costs, expenses, forfeited rewards, damages and other liabilities 
    11. These Competition Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Zimbabwe.
