Terms & Conditions for the Easter Campaign

  1. Introduction 
    1. The Easter Campaign (“the Campaign”) is being run by Mukuru Africa (Pty) Ltd with registration number 2013/003424/07 (applicable to Mukuru Customers residing in South Africa, Botswana, Malawi, Zimbabwe and Zambia) and Remitix Limited with Registration number 5270734 (applicable to Mukuru Customers residing in the UK) (“Mukuru”) from 15 March 2021 to 5 April 2021 (“the Campaign Period”) subject to these specific terms and conditions and the general terms and conditions for competitions and campaigns which can be found at www.mukuru.com (“Competition Ts & Cs”). 
    2. By participating in the Campaign, you confirm that you have read and agree to be legally bound by the Competition Ts & Cs.

  2. Campaign Entry Requirements
    1. In order to enter the Campaign, you must:
      1. be a registered Mukuru Customer; and
        1. send the applicable amount (in a single transaction) out of one of the following countries:
        2. from South Africa: minimum R600; or
        3. from Botswana: minimum P700; or
        4. from Malawi: minimum MWK75000; or
        5. from Zimbabwe: minimum Z$40; or
        6. from Zambia: minimum ZMW1000; or
        7. UK: minimum £50
      2. using the Mukuru Service during the Campaign Period (“Minimum Transaction”);
    2. Persons who fulfil the requirements of clause 2.1 above will be referred to as “Qualifying Entrants” for the purposes of the Campaign.
  3. Winner selection and prizes 
    1. A Qualifying Entrant will receive 1 (one) entry into the draw for every Minimum Transaction sent in compliance with 2.1.
    2. The Qualifying Entrants are entered into the draw where they stand a chance to win cash or airtime prizes. The total pool of cash and airtime prizes available amount to R1million (thus ZMW1.4 million or MWK52 million or P740 000 or Z$65000 or £50000).
    3. There will be a daily draw for airtime prizes and there will be a weekly draw for cash prizes.
  4. Announcement of winners 
    1. Winners for the daily airtime prize draw will be announced on the same day;
    2. Winners for the weekly cash prize draw will be announced weekly, on the following Monday;
    3. The winners will be contacted telephonically (if available) and will be announced on Mukuru’s social media platforms;
    4. If Mukuru is unable to transfer the prize to you within 4 (four) days, then the prize will be forfeited.
  5. Collection of prizes
    1. Each Qualifying Entrant who receives an airtime prize will automatically receive the airtime on his/her mobile phone, to the cell number registered to the Customer’s Mukuru account.
    2. For each Qualifying Entrant who receives a cash prize, such amount will be paid into the winner’s bank account or Mukuru card, upon the choice of the Qualifying Entrant. The cash prize will be converted (on the date on which the winners are announced) into the official currency of the country in which the winner is located.
    3. Alternatively, the winner may choose to remit the cash prize to a recipient of his/her choice in applicable countries, using the Mukuru Service.
    4. If the cash prize is remitted using the Mukuru Service to a recipient, the cash prize will be converted (on the date on which the winners are announced) into the official currency of the country in which the recipient is located.
  6. General 
    1. Mukuru employees will not be allowed to enter the competition.
    2. Qualifying Entrants must be 18 years or older.
    3. If for any reason, the Campaign cannot run as planned because of any technical failures, unauthorised intervention, computer virus, mobile network failure, tampering, fraud or any other causes beyond our control which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Campaign, we reserve the right to cancel, terminate, modify, suspend or cancel the Campaign and/or to disqualify any individual who (whether directly or indirectly) causes (or has caused) the problem.
    4. Mukuru may vary the terms of or cancel the Campaign at any time. Mukuru may vary or cancel the Campaign at any time without any liability to any person involved directly or indirectly in the Campaign.
    5. The airtime prizes are not transferrable for cash or other.
    6. Mukuru cannot be held liable for any loss, expense or damage to any person participating in the Campaign.
    7. A failure by Mukuru to enforce any one of the terms and conditions in any instance(s) will not give rise to any claim or right of action by any Qualifying Entrant. If Mukuru does not enforce a provision, this will not mean that Mukuru has given up on or lost any rights.
    8. Mukuru will not assume any liability to any participant, or Qualifying Entrant in connection with or arising out of the Campaign however it is caused, including for any costs, expenses, forfeited rewards, damages and other liabilities
    9. These Competition Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of South Africa.
