Terms & Conditions for the Mukuru Wallet IMT Competition  

  1. Introduction
    1. The Mukuru Wallet IMT Competition (“the Competition”) is run by Mukuru Financial Services Zimbabwe Limited (Company Registration Number 31/2024) (“Mukuru”) from 1 September 2025 to 30 September 2025, or until Mukuru decides to end the Competition (“the Competition Period”), subject to these specific terms and conditions (“Specific Ts & Cs”) and the general terms and conditions for competitions found at www.mukuru.com (“General Competition Ts & Cs”), together the “Competition Ts and Cs”.
    2. By participating in the Competition, you confirm that you have read and agree to be legally bound by the Competition Ts & Cs.

  2. Competition Entry Requirements:
    1. To qualify to participate in the Competition, you must:
      1. be 18 years or older, a resident of Zimbabwe, and hold a valid Mukuru account with an active Mukuru Wallet
      2. during the Competition Period, send an international money transfer (IMT) from Zimbabwe to any Mukuru-supported outbound corridor using your Mukuru Wallet; there is no minimum send; and
      3. comply with the Competition T’s and C’s.
    2. Each qualifying IMT described in Clause 2.1.2 constitutes one (1) automatic entry. Multiple qualifying IMTs create multiple entries. Reversed, cancelled, or refunded transactions are not eligible.
    3. “Qualifying Participants” are those who satisfy Clauses 2.1 and 2.2.
    4. Mukuru processes your personal information when you use the Mukuru service. Protecting your personal information is important to Mukuru and processing is done according to our Privacy Notice. When we run Competitions and you qualify for a prize, Mukuru will need to process your personal information for additional purposes.  For example, your personal information may be used to validate your entry, make the prize available to you if you are a winner and potentially share your personal information with 3rd parties (including 3rd parties in other countries) who have a need to know.  We will ensure those 3rd parties have adequate data protection safeguards in place. Mukuru may also announces the winners on social media or live on broadcast air. If the Competition includes Mukuru wanting to post photos of you as a winner on social media, you will be asked if you agree thereto.  By entering this Competition, you consent to Mukuru processing your personal information for the purposes of validating your entry, awarding the prize, and making any related announcements regarding the Competition.
  3. The Prize
    1. There are thirty (30) prizes in total. One (1) winner per day will receive USD 100, which will be credited into the winner’s Mukuru Wallet via local transfer.
    2. Prizes are awarded subject to compliance with clause 2. Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable and may not be redeemed for cash or any alternative.
    3. No action is required to claim the prize beyond eligibility; the credit will be processed to the winner’s Mukuru Wallet within seven (7) working days of winner confirmation.
  4. Winner Announcement & Notification
    1. Four random draws will be conducted, one per week, to determine the daily winners for the preceding period, with winners announced on the Mukuru Zimbabwe Facebook page on: 10 September 2025, 17 September 2025, 24 September 2025, and 1 October 2025. Each of the first three weekly draws will identify 7 winners (covering 1–7 Sep; 8–14 Sep; 15–21 Sep), and the final draw will identify 9 winners (covering 22–30 Sep).
    2. Mukuru will attempt to contact each provisional winner up to three (3) times by SMS and/or telephone. If a provisional winner cannot be contacted or fails to respond within a reasonable time, the prize will be forfeited and Mukuru may select an alternate winner.
    3. If a winner does not wish to have their name or image used for publicity, they must inform Mukuru upon notification; Mukuru will honour such requests.
  5. General
    1. Mukuru employees and agents (including their immediate family members) are not allowed to enter the Competition.
    2. Winners cannot decline a prize they have rightfully won or request a different prize.
    3. Mukuru reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the Competition at any time, including if technical failures, unauthorized intervention, or any other causes beyond its control affect the fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Competition.
    4. If the Competition is terminated early, any winners determined prior to termination will still receive their prizes, provided they have complied with the Competition Ts and Cs. 
    5. The prize is not transferable for cash or any other item, unless otherwise stated in the Competition Ts and Cs or agreed in writing by Mukuru.
    6. Mukuru will not be liable for any costs, damages, or losses incurred by any participant or winner in connection with this Competition. The prize is provided “as is,” without any warranties other than those given by the original issuer (if applicable).
    7. Failure by Mukuru to enforce any of the Competition T’s and C’s does not constitute a waiver of those terms and does not give rise to any claim by any participant.
    8. The Competition T’s and C’s are governed by the laws of Zimbabwe. By entering the Competition, you agree to indemnify Mukuru against any claims or liabilities arising from your participation or acceptance of a prize.
  6. Acceptance
    1. By participating in this Competition, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the Competition Ts and Cs.
