The Mukuru Chinese New Year Send and Win Campaign (“the Campaign”) is being run by Mukuru Africa (Pty) Ltd with registration number 2013/003424/07 (“Mukuru”) from 04 February 2026 – 15 March 2026 (“the Campaign Period”) subject to these specific terms and conditions and the general terms and conditions for Campaigns which can be found at www.mukuru.com (“Campaign T’s & C’s”).
By participating in the Campaign, you confirm that you have read and agree to be legally bound by the Campaign T’s & C’s.
If you have any questions about the Campaign Ts & Cs or the Campaign itself, please contact us by email at [email protected] (weekdays during office hours 08h00 – 17h00).
Campaign Entry Requirements:
In order to enter the Campaign, you must:
be a registered Mukuru Customer (as defined by Mukuru) in South Africa; and
during the Campaign Period, send an international money transfer (IMT) of a minimum amount of ZAR 21 000 (in a single transaction) from South Africa to China, at any participating Mukuru agents or branches in South Africa (“Minimum Qualifying Transaction”).
Each Minimum Qualifying Transaction in Clause 2.1.2 constitutes one (1) entry. Multiple qualifying transfers create multiple entries. Reversed, cancelled or refunded transfers are not eligible.
Persons who fulfill the requirements of clause 2.1 above will be referred to as “Qualifying Entrants” for the purposes of the Campaign.
Mukuru processes your personal information when you use the Mukuru Service. Protecting your personal information is important to Mukuru and processing is done according to our Privacy Notice. When we run Campaigns and you qualify for a Prize, Mukuru will need to process your personal information for additional purposes. For example, your personal information may be used to validate your entry, make the reward available to you if you are a winner and potentially share your personal information with 3rd parties (including 3rd parties in other countries) who need to know. We will ensure those 3rd parties have adequate data protection safeguards in place. Mukuru also announces the winners on social media. If the Campaign includes Mukuru wanting to post photos of you as a Winner on social media, you will be asked if you agree thereto, and you have the right to refuse.
The Prize
There will be one (1) single draw at the end of the Campaign Period to select eight (8) winners in total in South Africa. If a winner is a South African Qualifying Entrant, that winner will receive ZAR 5,000 (“Prize”).
Prize payment will be made either by EFT into the winner’s nominated bank account or as a credit to the winner’s Mukuru account, fourteen (14) days after verification.
Prizes are awarded subject to compliance with Section 2, are not transferable or exchangeable, and cannot be redeemed for any alternative.
Announcement of winners
The single random draw will take place between 15th and 20th March 2026, and winners will be announced on Mukuru’s social media platforms.
Mukuru will contact winners telephonically on the number linked to the account that affected the Minimum Qualifying Transaction after the single random draw took place. If Mukuru is unable to reach a Winner after two attempts to contact them telephonically, the Prize will be forfeited to a different winner. For the avoidance of doubt, failure to respond, complete verification, or accept the Prize within that timeframe will result in forfeiture, and Mukuru may select an alternate winner.
The Prize will be paid into the chosen bank account provided by the Winner. Proof of bank account, proof of entry, and identification may be required. Winners must present acceptable identification (e.g., National ID/Passport/Driver’s Licence) and any information reasonably required to facilitate prize payment. If a winner objects to publicity use of their name/image, they must inform Mukuru upon notification; Mukuru will respect such requests.
General
Mukuru employees, agents and their immediate family members will not be allowed to enter the Campaign.
Qualifying Entrants must be 18 years or older.
The Prize cannot be exchanged for any other currency.
If for any reason, the Campaign cannot run as planned because of any technical failures, unauthorised intervention, computer virus, mobile network failure, tampering, fraud or any other causes beyond our control which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Campaign, we reserve the right to cancel, terminate, modify, suspend or cancel the Campaign and/or to disqualify any individual who (whether directly or indirectly) causes (or has caused) the problem.
Mukuru may vary the terms of or cancel the Campaign at any time. Mukuru may vary or cancel the Campaign at any time without any liability to any person involved directly or indirectly in the Campaign.
Mukuru cannot be held liable for any loss, expense, or damage to any person participating in the Campaign.
A failure by Mukuru to enforce any one of the terms and conditions in any instance(s) will not give rise to any claim or right of action by any Qualifying Entrant. If Mukuru does not enforce a provision, this will not mean that Mukuru has given up on or lost any rights.
Mukuru will not assume any liability to any participant, or Qualifying Entrant in connection with or arising out of the Campaign however it is caused, including for any costs, expenses, forfeited rewards, damages and other liabilities
These Campaign Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of South Africa.
